What it does
Industrial work turns on questions that are expensive to get wrong, and on documents that take hours to produce. The Industrial Agent is one agent for both. It is general by design: the engineering, procurement, and project work it handles is common to every industrial sector, so a machine shop, a processing plant, and a data center all use the same agent.
It drafts requests for quotation and levels the quotes that come back. It checks lead times and flags what is likely to slip. It estimates cost, converts units, and does the schedule arithmetic. It reads a nameplate photograph, a datasheet, or a supplier quote and extracts the fields. It records a decision with the reasoning behind it, logs what happened on site, opens an incident, and drafts the handover. The output is a document you can send, not a transcript you have to rewrite.
How it answers
Answers carry their sources. A figure taken from your own document is quoted with the line it came from, or it is not reported at all. Critical values are marked for you to confirm. Where the agent cannot support an answer, it says so and shows you what it can — because in this work a confident wrong number is worse than no number.

Every conversation builds on the last. Decisions, documents, and history accumulate against the project they belong to, so the agent you brief today is the agent that remembers the specification six months from now. That continuity is the difference between a tool you re-explain yourself to and a colleague who was there.

Where this is going
Most industrial knowledge still lives in people, PDFs, and inboxes, and most industrial software still asks a human to do the assembling. We expect that to change: that the ordinary way to do industrial work will be to ask an agent, and that the agent will be expected to show its work.
The Industrial Agent is built for that. It is general today, and deliberately so — the intention is one agent that serves any industrial team, deepening in the sectors where real demand takes it, rather than a different tool for every industry. It already goes further in data centers, food and beverage processing, and medical isotope production, where the standards, calculations, and equipment knowledge are specific enough to be worth building. More will follow, decided by the people who ask for it.
